From the fourth year on, Laura U. Klemke (*1981) was systematically taught to play the guitar by her father. After four years of studying with professor Monika Rost at the “Franz Liszt Academy of Music“ in Weimar, Germany, she made her artist’s diploma in 2004. She finished her subsequent post-graduate studies with Prof. Thomas Müller-Pering with the concert examination in 2008, and further chamber music studies with her brother Samuel as a guitar duo in 2009. Beside other scholarships, she was granted a two-year graduate scholarship from her academy in 2006.

Laura participated successfully in international competitions, too, such as the „Fernando Sor“-competition (1st prize, 2004), or the „47th Tokyo International Guitar Competition“ (2nd prize while the 1st prize was not awarded at all), and 2nd prize and special prize “Musicians’ Award” at the “International JoAnn Falletta Guitar Concerto Competition 2008” in Buffalo – USA.

In more than 500 performances, radio- and television-broadcasts all over the world she could show her talent. Her concert activities include solo and chamber music. Laura Klemke has already published three CDs: “Danza Española” (guitar duo, 2005), “Paganini, Bach, Ponce, Searle” (2006), and the single “Preludio Nel quale Sono contenuti Tutti i Tuoni Musicali“ by Adam Falckenhagen (2008).
