Guitar Duo Klemke

Already since their earliest childhoods, brother and sister Samuel and Laura Klemke play the guitar. At the age of ten they founded the Guitar Duo Klemke.

After four years of studying with professor Monika Rost at the “Franz Liszt Academy of Music“ in Weimar, Germany, Samuel made his artist’s diploma in 2003, and Laura did the same in 2004. They each finished their subsequent post-graduate studies with Prof. Thomas Müller-Pering with the concert examination in 2007 respectively 2008. While still studying, they also started post-graduate studies in the subject chamber music, again with Prof. Monika Rost, which they finished in 2009 after passing both concert examinations unanimously. Master classes with noted artists such as Pepe Romero, David Russell or Manuel Barrueco helped forming their personalities.

Laura and Samuel both participated successfully in international competitions from America over Europe, Asia and Australia to Tokyo. As a duo they were the best players at one of the most important duo competitions in Europe, the “8th International Music Competition” in Bubenreuth - Germany, in 2006.

Next to almost 1000 public appearances in concerts, radio or TV broadcasts all over the world they have produced five CDs and a DVD.
